2024 Annual Meeting of North American Sturgeon and Paddlefish Society

The North American Sturgeon and Paddlefish Society (NASPS) invites you to attend our 2024 annual meeting in Mobile, Alabama on October 20-24.  We are excited to be offering an in-person meeting, providing a forum for sturgeon and paddlefish professionals to discuss new and emerging research geared toward several themes including conservation, restoration, and sustainable management.  The 2024 annual meeting will be held at The Admiral Hotel.  The welcome social will begin Sunday evening October 20th followed by presentations October 21st – October 23rd.  Our banquet will be held the evening of October 23rd, and the telemetry workshop hosted by Innovasea (half-day) is planned for Thursday morning, October 24th.

 

This meeting is designed to provide great amenities within your registration cost. Your registration cost includes a welcome social on Sunday, October 20th (5-8 PM), all lunches, and a poster session (6:00-7:00 PM) and dinner banquet (7:00-10:00 PM) on Wednesday, October 23rd.

 

We are requesting that you submit your abstract and register for the meeting as early as possible for meeting planning purposes.  It will be essential to have commitment from our members and attendees for the in-person meeting to be successful. A virtual component is not being planned for the meeting, and presentations will only be available to those attending in person.

 

Location:  The Admiral Hotel is 17 miles from the Mobile Regional Airport and 50 miles from the Pensacola Airport in Florida (prices may be less expensive through this airport).  The hotel is accessible by rental car, Uber, or Lyft.

 

A room block is available at The Admiral Hotel for the NASPS annual meeting, and the room rate is $169 plus tax for non-federal employees.  The federal room rate will be honored (current federal rate), and proof of federal employment must be provided.  Please call The Admiral Hotel at (251)355-0496 and reference the NASPS room block to reserve your room (NASPS Annual Conference) or click on the appropriate link for your non-federal (Attendees link) or federal (Federal Employees link) below.  The room block will be released September 24th.

Abstract Submission: Abstract submission is open! Please submit your abstract using the following link.  Note, there is no option to present virtually; all presentations will be in-person at the meeting.

The abstract submission has been extended and closes July 19.  Abstracts received that are above the number to fill our scientific program will be waitlisted.

Registration:  Early bird registration rates are available until Aug 14th.  Again, we are requesting that you register for the meeting as early as possible for meeting planning purposes.

**Note, early career professionals within two years of their terminal degree can register for the meeting at the student rate.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

All refund requests must be made in writing by email to the NASPS Treasurer (naspstreasurer@gmail.com) and received no later than 5 PM PST on September 24.  A total of 80% of the meeting charges will be refunded.  Full refunds will be issued in the case of cancellation of a continuing education workshop.  Registration transfers are possible upon request. Please email these requests to nasps@nasps-sturgeon.org.
