The North American Sturgeon and Paddlefish Society (the society) is committed to respecting the privacy needs of our members. The society recognizes the need for the appropriate management and protection of any personal information our members voluntarily provide to us.
Our Privacy Management Plan includes guidelines on the collection, storage, use and retention of personal information.
Collection: The society collects email addresses from its members to disseminate information and inform members of the activities of the society. To better facilitate collaboration among members of the society, the society also collects personal information that is voluntarily provided by its members though the societies webpage. The society will make all reasonable efforts to fully inform its members about any planned use/disclosure of information voluntarily provided by members. The society does not collect any financial information from its members.
Accuracy: The society will make any reasonable effort to ensure that the personal information submitted to its website by its members is accurate and inoffensive. Individuals providing personal information will have the opportunity to review and correct their personal information, and on written request by an individual to whom the information relates, the society will modify the information as required.
Storage: The society will store personal information using electronic means in such a way as to prevent unauthorized collection, access, use, disclosure or disposal of any personal information.
Retention: The society will retain voluntarily provided personal information. NASPS will delete any personal information related to a member upon request.
Disclosure: The society will not disclose email addresses or personal information unnecessarily to any third party without prior consent.
Access: The society promotes individual’s right of access to personal information about themselves. Access will be provided according to established procedures, through the society’s webpage.
NASPS governing board members who in any way handle or manage personal information have acknowledged and agreed to adhere to our Privacy Policy and the procedures that support that policy.
