NRDC Files Lawsuit On Behalf of Delaware River Atlantic Sturgeon

The National Marine Fisheries Service received a lawsuit on March 18, 2014, from the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Delaware Riverkeeper Network for failure to designate critical habitat for the Atlantic sturgeon (A.oxyrinchus).  NMFS listed 5 Distinct Population Segments (DPS) of Atlantic sturgeon in 2012; there is a statutory requirement to designate critical habitat for listed species not more than two years later.  The lawsuit can be found here: http://switchboard.nrdc.org/blogs/bsewell/01%20Complaint.pdf
