NASPS Remembers Paul Anders
The sturgeon and paddlefish community lost an inspiring and dedicated member when Dr. Paul Anders passed away January 25th, 2020. Paul made significant contributions to white sturgeon, working on collaborative research and recovery programs for the past few decades. In particular, he was an integral member of both the Upper Columbia River and Kootenai River Recovery Programs. He was a great scientist, a kind and positive person, and had a wonderful passion for science and collaboration. In addition to working with sturgeon, Paul made significant contributions to aquatic ecology over the past 30 years throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. The memory of Paul’s enthusiasm, dedication, and expansive kindness will continue to inspire all of us involved in sturgeon and paddlefish recovery for years to come.
