NASPS 2017 Annual Meeting-Summary

The NASPS annual meeting was held in conjunction with the American Fisheries Society meeting in Tampa, FL in August 2017.  The NASPS symposium was entitled “Sturgeon and Paddlefish Recovery in North America: Connecting Research across a Diverse Array of Habitats” and provided an opportunity to present the most recent research results and restoration efforts for sturgeons and paddlefish in North America.  The symposium occurred over 2.5 days with 41 sturgeon and paddlefish talks.  There were 6 sturgeon and paddlefish posters presented at the poster session.  The presentation topics included research and field techniques, habitat, physiology, status of populations, and effects of stocking.  Much collaboration occurred during our well-attended social.
