We invite biologists, managers, researchers, students, natural resource law enforcement, commercial and recreational fishers, and the interested public to participate in the 6th Great Lakes Lake Sturgeon Coordination Meeting. The meeting will be held February 21-22 (two full days) at the Blue Water Convention Center in Port Huron, Michigan. A block of rooms at the adjacent Double Tree by Hilton is being held at the Federal Government Rate of $93/night through 2/7/18 and can be accessed by the following:

Purpose: Provide a forum to foster communication and exchange of information relating to the study, management, and restoration of lake sturgeon in the Great Lakes basin, and to address selected emerging issues.
Included with this announcement is the Registration and Presentation Request Form. Presentations on any pertinent subject are welcome and will be considered by the Steering Committee. Several topics of particular interest for this meeting have been identified by the Steering Committee. They include but are not limited to; Stocking, Genetics, Telemetry, Fish Passage, Population Management and Outreach to name a few. Registration and presentation information is due January 10, 2018. Presenters will be notified by January 22, 2018 regarding selection for oral presentations and will provide additional preparation and submission instructions for presenters at that time. All oral presentations not selected for the listed or general sessions will be welcome as poster presentations.
Additional instructions for presenters, a detailed meeting agenda, and further descriptions of discussion group topics will be sent in future mailings. Like prior meetings, the 2018 meeting is funded by the Great Lake Fishery Trust (www.glft.org) and organized by members of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Great Lakes Lake Sturgeon Committee with assistance from a steering committee of partner agency and organization representatives from across the region.
